Infection in Bones

In medical terms called as Osteomyelitis, it is the infections of bones often a result of bacterial or fungal invasion of the bone and its surrounding tissues. These infections usually take long time to develop and also sometimes develop fast. In the children, most commonly infections are in the long bones and in case of adults; hipbones, spine, hand and feet are very common to get infected. If not treated early, the infection can cause death of bone cell and eventually leading to total bone loss.

With great amount of understanding of the bone infections and the required treatment, Dr. Zia has been successfully treating the infections either with surgical intervention or medical management. It has always been controversial about surgical intervention in the cases of osteomyelitis, since the traditional practice was radically removing the tissues or infected finger or foot.
